Lantic is a sugar refiner and transformer established in Canada since 1890, with refineries located in Montreal, Vancouver, and Taber. The company produces granulated sugar, icing sugar, sugar cubes, liquid sugar, and brown sugar that are mainly marketed under the "Lantic" brand.

Dan Lafrance and Joel Gonideck wanted to make the Lantic site evolve, with a new presentation of sugar, "sweeten less, sweeten better", thus allowing giving relevant information, recipes, and allowing investors to access the sugar market's data. Kryzalid also filmed several videos, in particular each step involved in the transformation of sugar, to show the whole process of this familiar product.
